Summer Reading Program
All ages can complete reading logs and other challenges for a chance to win prizes. Turn in your completed reading log at any Siouxland Libraries branch between June 2 and August 11 to redeem your finisher’s prize and earn an entry into the grand prize drawing.

Programming and Prizes

Birth to 5
The Birth to 5 Summer Reading Program is simple this year – have daily fun with your little one while encouraging early literacy. Help your child get ready to read by focusing on the five essential ready to read components; Read, Talk, Sing, Play, Write. Follow along the honeycombs, and cross one off when the activity is completed.

Finishers' Prizes
All finishers will receive a prize of animal print sunglasses or animal themed slap bracelet (while supplies last).
Grand Prize
Five randomly chosen finishers will be awarded a grand prize that consists of Magna – Tiles Safari Animals and Monkey Around Wiggle Giggle Game.
Each finisher gets 1 entry into the grand prize drawing. Return completed logs by August 11 to be entered to win a grand prize.
K-5th
Read to get Stronger Together! This summer, kick off your reading adventure on June 2. For every 20 minutes you read, mark off a honeycomb on your reading log. As you track your reading down the honeycomb path, you will reach milestones for your hard work. Complete the log to claim your final prize, earn a grand prize raffle ticket, and receive an invitation to the finisher's party. Earn bonus raffle tickets by completing sets of missions. Return reading logs by August 11 to be entered to win a grand prize.

Challenge yourself to read 30 hours this summer! For every two hours you read, you will earn a prize ticket for a chance at an instant prize or multiple raffle entries for the grand prize. Stop by your local library weekly to log your reading. Instant prizes rotate throughout the summer.
