Community Room Library Visits
Siouxland Libraries is proud to bring library services directly to residents of senior housing communities, assisted living centers, and care facilities. Through these visits, a curated selection of materials is made available for residents to browse and enjoy in a comfortable, familiar setting.
Residents may conveniently check out materials using their own library card, making it easy to stay connected to the library.
Deposit Collections
Siouxland Libraries offers delivery of curated collections to local facilities to help meet the needs and interests of their residents and participants. Library staff thoughtfully select materials based on the preferences submitted by facility staff to ensure each collection is relevant and engaging.
Each collection remains at the facility for an eight-week period, providing ample time for individuals to explore and enjoy the materials.
Homebound Delivery
Siouxland Libraries offers In-Home Delivery, a personalized service that brings library materials directly to residents’ homes. This monthly service is available to individuals living in Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County (excluding City of Dell Rapids) who are unable to visit the library due to advanced age, long-term illness, physical disability, or seasonal limitations.
If you qualify for this service, please contact your nearest library location. A staff member will contact you to learn more about your reading preferences and arrange a regular monthly delivery schedule. Once established, library staff will carefully select materials based on your interests and coordinate delivery to your home.
Note: Due to high demand, applicants may be placed on a waiting list until space becomes available.
Volunteers
If you are interested in supporting our In-Home Delivery service, we welcome you to apply as a volunteer. Volunteers play an important role in helping Siouxland Libraries connect community members with the materials and services they value.
