Book Nooks Coming to a Business Near You

Whether it's at the doctor's office, car repair shop, the salon, or somewhere else, there are a lot of places where we can be stuck waiting. There is an extra challenge if you have kids to entertain.
Enter Book Nooks.
Siouxland Libraries is excited to launch a partnership with REACH Literacy to provide a curated selection of children’s books at businesses where families are waiting to inspire reading wherever you are. Exposing children to stories at an early age builds their vocabulary, which leads to a solid foundation for learning to read and LOVING it, too!
“We share a common mission of fostering a love for reading and increasing literacy within our community,” Molly O’Connor, the executive director of REACH Literacy says, “By placing these little libraries in businesses, we hope to create more opportunities for children to engage with books, especially in moments where they might otherwise be waiting with nothing to do. It's a natural extension of our commitment to making books accessible to all and promoting a culture of reading in the Sioux Empire .”
What to Expect
A Book Nook will be stocked with adult or children’s books selected by Siouxland Libraries and REACH. After enjoying a book at one of our locations, stop by REACH’s storefront at the Western Mall, 2101 W. 41st St., Suite 23, where families can receive five FREE children’s books to build their home library. Looking for even more books? Visit any Siouxland Libraries branch to sign up for a library card, update your account, and check out books, movies, games, and more. With a library card, you can keep the reading adventure going long after your visit.
Where can I find one?
Book Nooks are currently located at Falls Community Health, Sioux Falls Humane Society, Sioux Falls One Stop, Avera Infusion Center, Avera Dialysis, Bloom & Learn, Flourish Wellness + Birth Co., Move U, Elegant Mommy, Union Gospel Mission, and the Midco Aquatic Center.
