Siouxland Libraries places no age restrictions on the use of its print and nonprint collections by minors.
It is our policy that only parents or legal guardians may restrict access to library materials and services. Parents or legal guardians who do not want their children to have access to certain library materials and services can restrict their child’s ability to check out materials. Parents or legal guardians should discuss the restrictions with their child in advance.
Parents or legal guardians may request that the library place a block on their child’s account to limit the checkout of physical items from selected collections. My First Library Card is also available to residents ages 0–12, which allows checkout of physical items only from children’s collections.
The Library and its staff provide equal access to library materials and services for all library guests. Parents or legal guardians are encouraged to accompany their children to monitor the materials their children are viewing in the library.
