Lane Closure – 49th Street
Beginning on Monday, June 19, 2023, the inside westbound lane, and the inside eastbound turn lane on 49th Street will be closed west of Western Avenue to allow crews to perform concrete repairs. One westbound lane of traffic and one eastbound turn lane will be maintained during construction.
All work is expected to be completed within one week with favorable weather conditions.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Construction within Riverdale Park
Beginning on Monday, June 19, 2023, crews will be working on underground utilities along the west side of the park. Work will begin near Cameo Way and progress north.
The park will remain open during construction, and traffic control will be in place.
This work is anticipated to be complete within two weeks.

Lane Closure – Sixth Street and Cliff Avenue
Beginning on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the City of Sioux Falls Water Reclamation/Water crews will be performing repairs to the sanitary sewer at the intersection of Sixth Street and Cliff Avenue. Eastbound traffic on Sixth Street will be shifted into the turn lane. One lane of traffic in each direction on Sixth Street will be maintained during construction.
Weather permitting, the repairs are anticipated to be completed by the end of the day.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Intersection Closure – 14th Street and River Boulevard
Beginning on Monday, June 19, 2023, East 14th Street will be closed at Cliff Avenue to allow crews to perform asphalt paving. For traffic using River Boulevard east of Cliff Avenue, a detour will be on 17th Street from River Boulevard to Cliff Avenue. For traffic using 14th Street west of Cliff Avenue, a detour will be on 10th Avenue to 15th Street.
This work is anticipated to be done outside of peak hours.
