Utility Work – Summit Avenue and 16th Street

Beginning on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, crews will be performing repairs to the sanitary sewer at the intersection of Summit Avenue and 16th Street and to the east along 16th Street for about a block.  There will be intermittent short term lane restrictions, short term road closures, and driveway access restrictions as the work progresses.  

Weather permitting, the repairs are anticipated to be complete within two weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

Lane Closure – Western Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Western Avenue from Madison Street to Burnside Street will be closed from 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

The Sioux Falls Street Division will be performing road maintenance work. Weather pending, this work is anticipated to be open to traffic by 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13. There will be a detour made available while the work is being completed.

Street Closure – Riverdale Park Entrance

Beginning on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, 24th Street will be closed at the Riverdale Park entrance to allow crews to perform underground utility upgrades. A detour route will be set up to direct access to the park through Cameo Way.

This closure is planned to be complete within one day.

The park will remain open during construction.  Traffic control will be in place.
