19th Annual Winter Wonderland Dazzling Light Display Opens November 18

Beginning on Friday, November 18, 2022, Falls Park transforms into a Winter Wonderland of dazzling lights and holiday music.

The lights and holiday music will be on display daily from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight, ending Sunday, January 15, 2023. This year marks the 19th consecutive year of the Winter Wonderland Light Display.

“For almost 20 years, Winter Wonderland is a holiday season staple in Sioux Falls. We’re always proud to light up Falls Park for everyone to enjoy,” Director of Parks and Recreation Don Kearney said. “Every year, Winter Wonderland shines brightly and reflects the joy of the season for eight weeks.”

Winter Wonderland features more than one mile of garland, 25 wreaths, 268 decorated trees, 215 decorated light poles, over 25 miles of light strings, and multiple animated lighted features. Visitors in vehicles can tune their radio to FM 97.7 to listen to the festive music while driving through the park.

The five-story tower beside the Visitor Information Center is the perfect location to catch a 360-degree view of the spectacular lights.

The Visitor Information Center located in Falls Park will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday through Sunday, from November 18, 2022, through January 15, 2023.

The Falls Overlook Café will host a Winter Wonderland Celebration and provide free hot beverages and ice cream from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022. For more information on this event, contact the Falls Overlook Café at 605-367-4885.

Falls Park is located at 131 East Falls Park Drive, just north of downtown. As you travel to the park, you can take North Weber Avenue or North Phillips Avenue to view the full display.
