Outreach Services
Community Room Library Visits
Siouxland Libraries brings a small collection of library materials directly to people at senior housing, assisted living centers and care facilities. Residents select from the collection and check out materials using their own library card.
Deposit Collections
The library delivers collections of materials to several care facilities. The library staff select materials based upon the submitted preferences of facility staff and the collection remains at the facility for an eight-week period.
Homebound Delivery
Homebound Delivery is a personalized delivery of library materials directly to people's homes. This monthly service is provided to residents of Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County (excluding Dell Rapids) who are unable to come to the library because of advanced age, long-term illness, or physical disability.
If you meet the qualifications to receive this service, contact your nearest library. Library staff will contact you to collect information on your reading preferences and set up a regular delivery schedule. Once a monthly schedule has been set, library staff will select materials based on your interests and arrange to have those materials delivered to you.
Note: Due to the number of individuals seeking service, the library may be unable to immediately arrange service and a customer may be put on a waiting list until an opening becomes available.
Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer to deliver materials to homebound individuals, please go to https://siouxlandlib.org/about-us/support-library for more information.
