Everybody Reads

Join in the Fun!

Siouxland Libraries is excited to partner with the Sioux Falls School District to encourage reading in our communities from March 1-22, 2024.

How close are we to 300,000?

Watch our counter grow and report your reads to your local library!

Reading is important for everyone!

Benefits of reading include:

  • Stronger brain activity
  • Better communication skills
  • Expanding your world = learn about new places, people, and events
  • Becoming intellectually sound - the more you read, the more you know
  • Lower stress
  • Increased empathy

From March 1-22, help us create a downpour of books by adding a raindrop to our sky for each book you read. Our goal is 300,000 books and if we make it, a $1500 donation will be made to REACH. REACH is a nonprofit that provides literacy instruction and experiences for adult and youth readers each year.

Each library location will have a display where you can add a raindrop for every book you read. Customers will be encouraged to write the title of the book you read and your name on the raindrop. Keep checking back throughout the month to see the sky fill with rain.

Siouxland Libraries will be posting pictures throughout the month on our social media. Follow us and post your reading pictures using the hashtag #everybodyreads.
