Local Author Encourages Others to Follow Their Set-Aside Dreams

Local author Joyce Heiser’s interest in writing began in a high school journalism class. Her dream, lay dormant for almost 40 years―until she enrolled in an online writing workshop in 2003. Three months later, a writing assignment became her first publication.

Now Heiser is widely published in the inspirational field, including Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Miracle of Love.

She will speak at Siouxland Libraries Downtown Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue, Sunday, November 4, 2018, from 2 to 3 p.m.

“I’m looking forward to sharing my journey and hopefully encouraging some older folks to follow a set-aside dream,” she says. “There are too many unhappy retirees. I’m out to change that.”
