Operations Division (Ages 18+)

Perform maintenance duties related to the preparation and care of athletic fields.

Recreation Division (Ages 16+)

Creates and leads recreational activities for 7–12-year olds in an outdoor setting. Has knowledge of a variety of activities and board games. Is responsible for creating weekly lesson plans and implementing them. Possess a loud voice to give verbal directions. Operates a city vehicle and lifts/carries up to 40 pounds. Gives direction to the Playground Assistant and handles paperwork for daily activities.

$11 per hour May–August 40+ hours per week

Has knowledge of a variety of activities and board games, is able to take direction from Playground Leader, and is willing to implement planned activities. Possess a loud voice to give verbal directions. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

$10.50 per hour May–August 40+ hours per week

Reads league schedule, enforces park rules, and collects scores from each game. Works in diverse weather conditions.

Storyland Theatre actors perform shows in outdoor summer settings. Entertaining audiences requires a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and abundant energy. Ability to sing and dance are a plus. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

Auditions will be held at 10 a.m. on April 13 at Oyate Community Center or submit your audition via video by emailing clips to land.o.stories@gmail.com; Video submissions should include a performance of a 2-3 minute children’s story, children’s song, and your most enthusiastic rendition of Happy Birthday. Video auditions will not be accepted after April 13.

$1,735 per season June–August

Reads league schedule, enforces park rules, and collects scores from each game. Works in diverse weather conditions.

MIDCO® AQUATIC CENTER (Ages 15+)

Greet customers, sell season swim passes and daily admissions, provide excellent customer service and set the tone for every visitor. An enthusiastic and friendly demeanor to every visitor is “a must.”

$10.50 per hour                       

Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Must be American Red Cross certified.

$11.50 per hour                       

No matter what their age, people need to know about water, and you are just the person to teach them water safety, swimming, and other aquatic specialties. Help prevent pool emergencies before they start by teaching patrons with swimming lessons. American Red Cross certification required.

$12 per hour                       

Not only do you have what it takes to be a Lifeguard (see above), but you are also a Lifeguard Leader.
Responsibilities include overseeing, instructing, planning and assessing the personnel and executing lifeguard activities. Trains the newcomers and supervises the daily operations. Performs other pool duties and roles as advised by the pool manager. Must be American Red Cross certified with Lifeguard and WSI certifications.

$13 per hour

Performs maintenance duties related to the proper operation of municipal swimming pools. Must be 18 years old or older. Work less than 28 hours per week. Possible available shifts are weekdays from 4:30 to 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or 5 to 10 p.m.; Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 12 to 8 p.m.; Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

$14 per hour

Pool managers will assist in enforcement of policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of the pool facility including personnel management and training, scheduling, and dealing directly with customers. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service. This employee must have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. Supervisory experience is preferred.

$16 per hour
During school year, Lifeguard and Head Guard only:
• +$0.75 per hour for Monday through Friday, 5:30 to 10:30 a.m. shifts.
• +$4 per hour for Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shifts.

Outdoor Aquatics (Ages 15+)

Greet customers, sell season swim passes and daily admissions, provide excellent customer service and set the tone for every visitor. An enthusiastic and friendly demeanor to every visitor is desired.

$10.50 per hour               May–September

Trains the newcomers and supervises the operations that are executed in a swimming pool. Executes other pool duties and roles as advised by the pool manager. Must be American Red Cross and Water Safety Instructor certified.

$13 per hour                      May–September
