Change of Information
- Please notify the library of any changes to your address, phone number or name.
- To update your E-mail address or change your PIN, log in to My Account and click on Profile.
Library Card Expiration/Renewal
- Your library card expires annually. To find out when your card expires, log in to My Account and click on Profile.
- To renew your library card, visit any Siouxland Libraries branch. Bring your library card and a photo I.D. All fees will need to be paid before your card is renewed.
- You can renew your library card within 30 days of its expiration date. If your card will expire soon, you will not be able to do online renewals; call the Library at 367-8700 to renew your materials.
- If your card has expired, you will not be able to check out library materials, log in to My Account, or use the Internet computers in the Library.
Loss/Theft of Card
- Your library card is like a credit card. Do not lend it, and notify the library immediately if it is lost or stolen. Cards reported as lost or stolen and subsequently found or recovered can be used only after ownership has been verified through presentation of a driver's license or valid I.D. Replacement fee for a new library card is $1.00.
Institutions, Business and School Cards
- Any institution, business, or school located within the city limits of Sioux Falls or in Minnehaha County, excluding the city of Dell Rapids, may have borrowing privieges.
Confidentiality
- Your library record is private and information contained in the record cannot be given out to anyone other than the library cardholder.

This is in accordance with South Dakota Code 14-2-51: Confidential library records. All public library records containing personally identifiable information are confidential. Any information contained in public library records may not be released except by court order or upon request of a parent of a child who is under eighteen years of age. As used in this section, “personally identifiable” means any information a library maintains that would identify a patron. Acts by library officers or employees in maintaining a check out system are not violations of this section. (Source: SL 1983, ch. 154.1)
