Title: Porter Williams to Speak at the Main Library


In celebration of Black History Month, local artist and independent scholar Porter Williams will present a lecture on the Civil Rights Era in Sioux Falls, on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, from 7–8 p.m. at the Main Library, 200 North Dakota Avenue.

As a sculptor, Williams has created pieces featuring prominent figures in black history, which are on display throughout Sioux Falls. He has also been actively involved in the development of the South Dakota African American History Museum in Sioux Falls.
