The Sioux Falls School District, in collaboration with Mayor Dave Munson and Siouxland Libraries, has issued a reading challenge to students in grades K-5. Children are challenged to read 20 minutes a day for 50 days between October 1 and December 8, 2008.

Each student will receive a reading log and bookmark at school. Parents or guardians will sign the log when it is complete and students will return the logs to their school librarians. Students who complete the challenge will receive recognition at school and have an opportunity to win a new book for their school library and a visit to the school by Mayor Munson.
