Title: Zoo Animals to Visit Siouxland Libraries

In celebration of Read Across America Day and the March 2 birthday of children’s author and illustrator Dr. Seuss, Siouxland Libraries will conduct a special storytime for preschoolers that will include some very special visitors from the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum, March 3–7. “If I Ran the Zoo” will be the story time theme and zoo educators will introduce children to a variety of zoo animals at the Oak View Branch on Monday, March 3, at 10:15 a.m.; the Main Branch on Tuesday, March 4, at 10:15 a.m.; the Caille Branch on Wednesday, March 5, at 10:15 a.m.; the Ronning Branch on Thursday, March 6, at 10:15 a.m.; and the Crooks Branch on Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m.

Admission is free, but seating may be limited. Groups of ten or more must register in advance to attend by calling 367-8710.

Originally created by the National Education Association as a one-day event to celebrate the joy of reading on March 2, Read Across America Day has grown into a nationwide initiative promoting the importance of reading every day of the year.
