The caricature art of Lincoln High School graphic arts students will be on exhibit at the Main Branch of Siouxland Libraries from May 8 through June 1, 2007.
A reception will be held for exhibiting student artists in the Main Branch meeting room on Thursday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments provided by Bagel Boy will be served, and the public will have the opportunity to meet these talented high school artists and learn more about their work.
According to Lincoln High School art teacher Jacqueline Beilke, the caricatures on display were created as part of a semester of study in graphics and graphic communication. Using cartooning as a fun way to develop their digital imaging skills, students examined facial features and selected prominent personalities suitable for caricature. They created ink drawings of their subjects which were then scanned and further embellished through computer manipulation. |
