Hike Through History at Good Earth State Park
Siouxland Libraries Oak View Branch will offer a summer adventure for families, Hike Through History at Good Earth State Park, on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
Located southeast of Sioux Falls at Blood Run, the state park is an important cultural and historical site as well as a unique nature retreat. The river, abundant wildlife, fertile floodplains, availability of pipestone (catlinite), and protection from winds made the area an important gathering place for many tribal people from 1300 to 1700 A.D.
Registration is required for the outing, which will feature a guided hike with naturalists from the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks. Those attending may bring an after-hike picnic lunch.
For more information and to register, call the Oak View Branch Library at 367-8060.
If an ADA accommodation is needed, please contact the Human Relations Office at 605 367 8745 or email@example.com at least 72 hours before the event.
