How do I place a hold?
If you search the Library Catalog and discover that the material you want is already checked out, you can place a hold on it. This will reserve it for you when it is returned to the Library. You can place a hold on most items at the Library.
When the material is available, you will receive a notice from the Library telling you that you can pick it up at the circulation desk at the branch location you select.

What is the difference between “Place Hold on Next Available Copy” and “Place Hold on this Specific Copy”?
-
“Place Hold on Next Available Copy” means you will get the next copy that becomes available. This is usually the best way to put a hold on a book where all the copies are the same. Most times you will get the book you want more quickly.
-
"Place Hold on this Specific Copy” is used when you want a specific volume or disc in a set.
